From the outset, the brief was both deceptively simple and richly open-ended. The clients sought a home that embraced light, spatial interest, and layered detail, while remaining warm, functional, and deeply liveable. For the Sarsfield Brooke team, the project offered a rare opportunity: a residence purchased and fully furnished while the owners were living offshore, allowing for a considered transformation guided by trust on the clients end, and vision and experience on the Sarsfield Brooke end.
The result is a family home that balances artful luxury with effortless everyday comfort. Expansive yet intimate, each space unfolds with a quiet confidence, where materials, forms, and finishes are allowed to speak without excess. Natural light moves freely through the home, illuminating carefully considered spaces.
Every element of art, lighting, and furniture was hand-selected, curated, and supplied by Sarsfield Brooke in collaboration with some of Italy’s most respected makers. Form and function are seamlessly intertwined throughout: sculptural seating anchors conversation zones, statement lighting installations cascade through dramatic voids, and custom cabinetry and richly textured pieces bring warmth and tactility to sun-filled rooms. Each piece feels purposeful, contributing to a cohesive narrative rather than competing for attention.
The design journey began with the Pininfarina Stratum Sofa by Reflex of Italy, a piece defined by its fluid lines and architectural presence. From this anchor, the team took their cues, introducing furnishings with refined silhouettes and a restrained elegance, carefully ensuring the home retained a sense of comfort and ease. The Stella Pendant Light by Reflex of Italy soon followed, its sculptural form providing a dramatic focal point and establishing the visual language that would guide the remainder of the interior.
While the home carries the atmosphere of a private gallery, it never loses sight of how it is meant to be lived in. This is a residence designed for slow mornings and unhurried evenings, for hosting and retreat in equal measure. Sweeping views frame each room, revealed gradually as the eye moves past finely resolved furnishings and bespoke detailing, creating a sense of discovery that rewards both pause and movement.
It is, in every sense, a home that reveals its beauty not all at once, but over time. Stunning from every angle, and considered in every detail.
